Stabilisation of existing brick wall and old lime kilns to rear of an Ambulance Facility.
This project was designed to provide long term support to an existing brick wall with four lime kilns in the base. The old lime kilns were filled with foam concrete and grout and the brick wall was braced with a framework of steel beams fixed with 7m long ground anchors drilled into the chalk face behind.
The overall length of the wall was 16m with a height of 8m, a total of 92 No. 7m long ground anchors were installed. This includes additional ground anchors, installed following testing, to provide additional support in the lower part of the wall.
