Slope protection and Stabilisation for a new housing development.
JTS undertook this project on a Design and Build basis. The aim of this project was to stabilise and protect the slope to the rear of the gardens for a new housing project. At the top of the new slope were existing properties.
The slope was excavated to an angle of 68 degrees and 66 soil nails each 6m deep were installed in 5 rows. Erosion matting was then placed on the slope to prevent degradation of the surface and facilitate vegetative growth. This matting was then held in place with rockfall mesh secured to the soil nails. Pre-seeded coir matting and a 100mm thickness of topsoil were also installed to provide a vegetated finish.
The preferred plant used on this project was a 6t excavator and our state of the art rotary percussive Marini Drilling Mast attachment.
