Remedial works to landslip undermining the A93 to Braemar in the Scottish Highlands
The aim of this project was to install remedial works comprising a gabion mattress and supporting ground anchors in an area where water damage had washed away existing gabions and the slope below undermining the road above.
A gabion mattress was installed by the main contractor to replace the land slipped material and protect the remaining slope. JTS were commissioned to install 3 columns of 6m long duckbill anchors to hold the gabion mattress in place.
The anchors were installed working up the slope from the bottom of the gabion mattress.
